About Us.

Who We Are

We are a community based organization working our best to uplift communities.

Guide Light Initiative is a registered charity organization in Wakiso District with Reg No. NCD 49, whose focus is on  improving people’s health, providing clean water, advocating for the rights of women and children, fighting poverty and unemployment among others.

The organization is  currently operating in Wakiso District but with plans to expand to the entire country with our target groups being the Elderly, Children, widows, Youths living in abject poverty and vulnerable communities.

The Organization is committed to providing a platform for the inspiration and empowerment of vulnerable and unemployed youths and women in our communities through saving, lobbying, networking, education, agriculture, health care provision, enabling access to clean water and sanitation, emergency relief to foster sustainability in communities.

Guide Light Initiative works with local area leaders to find the neediest for effectiveness and service delivery but currently relies much on individual savings of our director Ms Sharon Miranda who is the vision bearer of the organization. The organization also depends on a few donations from well wishers who care about having an improved community free from poverty.

While founding Guide Light Initiative, Sharon Miranda who based on her personal experience while growing up remembers the pain of growing up in a poor family struggling to find basic needs. She says most of her child hood friends dropped out of school at a young age and were married off during their teenage years. Her interaction with local communities further strengthened her passion to serve communities and improve her calls for advocacy and empowerment.
